My $40 inflatable turkey costume was the only thing that stopped my uncle's rant about the 2020 election at Thanksgiving.

I put it on and started doing the chicken dance, which made my cousin laugh so hard she snorted milk out her nose and the whole table just lost it, completely derailing the political talk. Anyone have a weird prop that saved a holiday dinner?

Seriously, why don't we all just wear costumes?

Remember that study where kids in uniforms actually felt more pressure to act the same? I bet mandatory costumes would do the same thing but for personality. We'd all just pick the easiest character to play every day and get stuck in it. The weird part is we'd probably end up with less variety, not more.

Is it really that big of a deal? Most people just want to be comfortable and not stand out. Costumes seem like a lot of work for a regular Tuesday.
