inHad to choose between a quick patch job or a full reset on a foundered mare
It's the same reason people get mad when a mechanic says they need a whole new brake system instead of just topping off the fluid. The right fix is almost never the fastest one, and people just want the problem to go away with the least amount of effort or money. You see it everywhere from home repairs to how companies handle customer service. Taking the time to do it properly is a tough sell when everyone's been trained to expect an instant solution.

inMy brother-in-law, the electrician, dropped a truth bomb about the 5G rollout.
Ugh, but like, all that stuff is just basic smart city tech. It helps with traffic and finding parking spots, which we kinda need. I mean, it's not some secret spy plot, it's just how things work now.

inTried to save $200 on a used forge and lost a whole day's work
Honestly, that's brutal losing a whole day over a $150 forge. @the_xena has the right idea with the hammer tap, it's such a basic check. I'd be too mad to even look at the thing now.

inA stubborn color correction in my Seattle chair took me 8 hours to finally get right.
Ever try a bleach wash first to gently lift that underlying pigment?

inHad a major layer state mix-up during a client review in Chicago last week
Honestly find that kind of system way too rigid for my workflow. Locking files just adds another thing to remember and I'd probably forget half the time. I keep it simple by saving a brand new copy of the file right before any big export, so the original is always safe to mess with. That way I'm not fighting read-only flags when I need to make a last minute fix.
