My lead tech called my wiring bundles 'a bird's nest' and it stuck with me

I was working on a G1000 install in a Cessna 172 last month, and he pointed out how my harness routing made future troubleshooting a nightmare. I started using numbered zip ties and a basic diagram for every bundle, even on simple jobs. How do you guys keep your runs clean when you're pressed for time?

lol been there. Honestly, just prepping your ties and loom before you even touch the plane saves so much time. Makes it look pro even when you're rushing.

Totally agree with @grace_knight70. I used to just grab everything and go, and it was a mess. Now I lay out all my ties and check the loom tension while I'm still at my bench. That way, when I finally get to the plane, I can just focus on the work. It cuts the frantic feeling in half and things just go smoother. Makes a huge difference.

My old boss in Seattle swore by that grab-and-go chaos for creative breakthroughs.
