Hot take: throwing frozen chicken straight in the air fryer works if you do this one trick

I saw this video where a guy used a meat tenderizer to flatten frozen chicken breasts before tossing them in the air fryer. Tried it last night with some garlic salt and paprika, came out juicy in 18 minutes at 375. Anybody else messed around with frozen meat directly or do you always thaw first?

Read somewhere that pounding frozen chicken ruins the meat fibers.

... and here I am still using a hammer on my chicken like a cavewoman lol. I mean sure, you could thaw it like a normal person but where's the fun in that? The meat tenderizer trick is basically a free anger management session plus dinner, so it's a win-win. I bet my air fryer has seen more frozen action than most people's microwaves at this point.

The hammer trick reminds me of this one time my neighbor tried to defrost a turkey by putting it in the bathtub with warm water... he forgot about it for like four hours and the whole bathroom smelled like a wet chicken for days. My grandma used to say the only way to cook a chicken was to threaten it first with a rolling pin, which honestly explains a lot about her cooking style. Air fryers are basically tiny convection ovens that pretend to be healthy while you're eating the whole bag of frozen fries... mine has seen some questionable stuff too.
