Just hit 200 AI-generated floor layouts in a week
I've been testing out this AI layout tool for my flooring jobs. Last Tuesday I hit 200 different floor plans generated in 7 days while bidding a hotel renovation in Phoenix. The crazy part is it saved me about 15 hours of manual drawing time. Has anyone else tried using AI for layout planning or estimating in their trade?

Switched to a similar AI layout tool last month for a restaurant remodel and it flagged a 2 inch discrepancy in the kitchen corridor that matched the original blueprints wrong. Turned into a 30 minute fix instead of a three hour headache on install day because I caught it before ordering materials. The key is using it as a second set of eyes, not a replacement for walking the actual space yourself.

Stop trusting a robot to plan your work. Those layouts might look fine on screen but they don't account for real world mess like uneven subfloors, weird door swings, or existing pipe runs that aren't drawn on any blueprint. I've had clients pay for AI generated plans then waste days on site fixing things the software missed because it didn't understand basic construction logic. Manual measuring and sketching catches those headaches before they cost you money.

Honestly been messing with one of those layout generators too @the_charlie and I get the skepticism but man the time savings are real. Last week I ran a job where the AI caught a weird angle in the hallway that I would've missed measuring by hand 'cause I was rushing after lunch. Did need to go back and adjust for a hidden vent that wasn't on the original plans though, so it's not perfect but it beats staring at graph paper for hours.
