Appreciation post: that moment my AI art generator made a hand with 7 fingers
I was at a coffee shop in Austin trying to generate a quick banner for a friend's band, and the AI spat out this portrait where the guy had a literal extra thumb growing out of his palm. Had to spend 20 minutes manually painting over it in Photoshop just to make it look human again. Has anyone else had to fix weird anatomy glitches in their AI outputs?

That "spent 20 minutes fixing it" part hit close to home. It's funny how we're all so used to patching up these little glitches that we don't stop to notice the bigger pattern - AI is amazing at getting the big picture wrong in the weirdest, most human-like ways. Like, my GPS insists there's a left turn through a brick wall on my commute, but it's still the best option I've got.

The real issue isn't that AI gets details wrong, it's that we've started treating these bugs like personality quirks instead of failures. My thermostat has a thing where it cranks the heat if I say "I'm cold" within 5 feet of it, and I just shrug and turn it down manually. We're basically training ourselves to be the AI's quality assurance team for free, and nobody talks about how weird that is.
