I tracked my spending for a month versus just guessing, and the numbers were a shock.

I used a basic spreadsheet to write down every coffee, grocery run, and gas fill-up. Seeing the total at the end of the month was $400 more than I thought I spent. Does anyone else find that just guessing your budget never works?

That financial podcast said cash feels real but cards don't.

Honestly, that whole "cash feels real" thing is overblown. I've been using credit cards for years and I track every single dollar way more carefully than when I used cash, because my banking app gives me instant notifications. Ngl, cash is just paper that disappears into my pocket or gets lost in my car, whereas a card leaves a digital trail I can actually review later. Tbh, if you're impulse buying $237 on Amazon in one day, that's not a card problem, that's an impulse control problem regardless of what you're paying with.
