I thought I could handle my own taxes until I got a letter from the IRS about a $1,200 mistake from last year.
I was at my kitchen table in Denver, panicking over the notice, so I finally hired a CPA who found a missed deduction and got it sorted in a week, so has anyone else been saved by a pro after a tax scare?

Sometimes the DIY route just costs more in the end.

You're right about that, patriciap52. I read a piece about how people often forget to add their own time into the DIY cost.

Yeah, and that time calculation is key. Most people forget their own labor is worth something. Ends up being a false economy more often than not.
