Showerthought: Finally got the weld bead smooth on my practice piece, but why does the puddle sometimes look dull?
After weeks of trying, I managed a consistent weld on some scrap plate (small win, I know). Still, I can't figure out what causes that matte finish instead of a shiny one during the pass.
