My old house had a door that would never stay shut in the winter

It was a solid wood door from the 1950s. Every time the heat kicked on, it would swing open about an inch. I tried new hinges and even planed the edge. Nothing worked. Then my neighbor, a retired carpenter, told me to check the strike plate. He said, 'Just move it over a quarter inch.' I was sure it wouldn't help. I took the plate off, filled the old screw holes with toothpicks and glue, and drilled new pilot holes a bit to the side. Reinstalled it. The door clicked shut and stayed. Perfect seal. I felt silly for overthinking it. Has anyone else fixed a drafty door with such a simple trick?

I was staying at a hotel in Phoenix last week for a job, and I walked past their big laundry room. The door was open, and every single washer and dryer had its front panel off. They were all the same model, a big commercial brand, and they were lined up like that for a full day. It got me thinking. On one hand, it's smart. One tech can move down the line, doing the same fix on each machine without opening and closing them over and over. It saves a ton of time. But on the other hand, it looked like a mess, and I'd worry about guests seeing it or parts getting mixed up. It's a real efficiency versus professionalism debate. Found a way to get my game group to actually finish a campaign

My group of four has tried to get through the Gloomhaven campaign three separate times over the past two years. We'd always get about ten scenarios in, someone's schedule would blow up, and we'd forget all the rules and story threads. This time, I made a shared Google Sheet that tracks our party's gold, items, and unlocked scenarios. I also started taking a picture of the board state with my phone at the end of every session. It sounds simple, but having that quick visual reference last week saved us 30 minutes of setup trying to remember where we left all the monster standees and damage tokens. We're now 15 scenarios deep, which is a record for us. Does anyone else have a specific tool or method that finally got their group over the campaign hump?
