Yeah that bit about your dad calling it an update until he learned "comeback" is so real. My little sister got me into kpop and she hit me with the same lesson. Felt kinda silly at first saying a group was having a comeback when they never went anywhere, but now it's just normal. Getting the terms down like @the_sandra said really does help you feel like you're actually in the loop and not just watching from the outside. It turns a confusing hobby into something you can actually talk about with people who are into it.
