DAE use dry brush for quick family scene sketches?
My niece was dancing around the kitchen. I tried to paint her with dry brush. The scratchy marks caught her movement perfectly. It hit me, family moments are rough and real. This method keeps my paintings honest.

Wait, you got scratchy dry brush marks to show movement? That's wild... every time I try to paint my kids moving it just looks like a blurry mess. I can't believe it actually worked for a dancing kid. Mine end up looking like ghosts, not people. You might be onto something with that honest, rough look though.

Actually, maybe you're trying to paint the whole kid. I found if I just focus on getting one fast limb or a swirl of hair right, the rest can fall into place. The brain fills in the movement from that single honest mark.

Dry brush has that messy charm when you're rushing to catch a moment. I once tried to sketch my dog running, and the rough lines made it look more alive than any careful drawing. @thea129, your blurry ghosts might just need that bit of scratchy energy to feel real.
