Found a weird clicking noise in my attic that turned out to be a loose junction box.

I was about to call an electrician after hearing a faint click every 10 seconds for three nights straight from the attic. Turns out it was just a loose wire in a junction box near the furnace vibrating when the AC kicked on. Tightened the screw with a #2 flathead and the noise stopped completely. Has anyone else had phantom sounds that ended up being some simple fix like that?

Hah, oh man I feel this. I once spent an hour trying to figure out why my fridge was knocking, only to realize a plastic bottle cap was stuck under the front leg. Felt like a real genius that day.

nelson.nancy that fridge knocking story is a good one. I have to ask though, how long did it take you to figure out that was a bottle cap? I find those little noises can drive you crazy because you're so sure it's something mechanical and major. Was it just a matter of finally getting down on the floor and looking underneath?
