Appreciation post: A waiter's funny mistake in Rome had me loving solo meals
I always avoided eating alone at nice places abroad. But when a waiter in Rome confused my order and started chatting to make up for it, I realized how social it can be. The whole restaurant ended up laughing with us.

Had a similar moment in Lisbon where a server brought the wrong appetizer and just decided we were friends for the night. He ended up explaining the entire menu's family recipes. Those unexpected connections completely changed how I view dining alone now.

Ever consider that a wrong order might be a lucky break? I've learned to see those moments as openings for real interaction, not just service. It shifts the whole dynamic from transactional to personal.

Honestly, @phoenix_fisher79's tale is cool, but must every mix-up be so profound?
