I got hired at an onion farm in Walla Walla to sort moldy ones, but the real gig was dumping rotten bins into the compost pit. After 6 months I could nail the exact 3-second pause before tipping so the slurry splashes perfectly, and that landed me a side job at a mushroom farm. Has anyone else found a weird rhythm in a gross task that actually became a skill?

Rotting onion slurry isn't a skill, it's just muscle memory from doing the same gross thing over and over. The mushroom farm probably hired you cause you showed up and didn't gag, not cause you perfected some art form. Calling that a skill is like saying a dishwasher who stacks plates fast is a culinary master.
