The week I found $40 in old Magic cards at a garage sale changed my mind about cardboard crack

I pulled a revised edition Sol Ring and a Judge Promo Sword of Fire and Ice from a shoebox that some kid's mom was gonna toss, and now I get why people hoard those dusty binders in back rooms.

Wait, was that Sol Ring actually from Revised or maybe from 4th Edition? The way you tell it, it sounds like Revised but those were black bordered with the old art, 4th Edition was white bordered and looks way more like a basic Magic card. I only ask because I had a similar thing happen once, a buddy of mine swore he found a Force of Will from Alliances in a shoebox, but it turned out to be a Chronicles reprint worth like two bucks. The Judge Promo Sword of Fire and Ice is still a crazy find, that's like a hundred dollar card easy, even if you had to double check what set the Sol Ring came from.
