Update: That river rock collection took me a decade to complete...

Started picking up interesting stones from the same creek bed back in high school... just found the last piece I needed to show the full erosion cycle. Ten years of checking after every heavy rain. Crazy how long some geology things take, right? Anyone else have a patience project like this?

Did you see that thing about scientists watching glaciers for a hundred years? It shows how some real world changes just crawl along, like your rocks. Margaret_white48, guess that's why most of us lack the patience for this stuff.

Ever read about those scientists who date trees by their rings? I remember something about a bristlecone pine they tracked for like 5,000 years. Makes your ten years seem quick. It's wild to think about waiting that long just to understand a little more about climate or soil. Your rock collection is basically that same kind of slow discovery. Real stuff just doesn't work on our human schedules.
