PSA: Marking finish cans with the date opened saved our shop from a big mess.

We kept using old finish that made projects look cloudy. Now we write the open date on every can and toss them after six months. How do you handle old materials in your workspace?

Used to think dating cans was overkill until my last coat went tacky. Now I'm a total convert, it just saves so much headache down the line. Old stuff definitely has a shelf life.

My garage taught me the same lesson with old batteries last winter, lol.

Wait, how old was that can that turned tacky? I had a two-year-old paint go totally weird on me once, like it never fully dried. Did yours actually separate or just stay sticky forever?
