Shoutout to the plain cookbooks from years ago
They stuck to basics like flour and sugar you already had. Now a lot of recipes call for strange items I need to look up. Is this just a me thing, or is simple cooking gone for good?

My aunt's vintage pie crust recipe only needs lard and flour, no quinoa or kale nonsense.

Are you KIDDING me? I found a blog with a salad covered in edible flowers and gold leaf. It looked like a craft project! They add things like activated charcoal to pizza crust for no reason. Remember when food was about eating, not taking pictures? This trend is absolutely BONKERS.
