What if the real reason is about CONTROL, not getting things done? Sometimes teams pick a weird way to make sure no one steps out of line. @loganthompson, think about that time they made us use that slow software for all tasks. It added hours of work but let bosses watch every click. That might be happening here, where the method is really about fear of messing up. They just dress it up as "the right way" to avoid questions.
