Warning: My loose change jar turned into a real savings boost
I mean, I started tossing all my coins and small bills into a jar at the end of each day, idk it seemed pointless at first. Maybe it's just me but I kept at it for like six months without touching it. When I finally counted it, there was over $300 just sitting there. I moved it all to my high-yield account, which felt pretty cool. It's a small thing, but now I see how easy it is to save without even trying hard.

My buddy actually tried that jar thing last year. He only used quarters and dollar bills, ended up with almost $500 after twelve months. He was shocked because it just sat on his dresser, you know? Makes you wonder how much we all let slip through the cracks, right?

Used to think it was silly... changed my mind.

Same here, honestly. When you said 'used to think it was silly,' that hit home. I started tossing my loose change into a coffee can last winter, and by spring I had enough for a nice dinner out. It's crazy how those little bits add up without you noticing. I used to just let coins pile up in my car or at the bottom of my bag. Now I see it's not silly at all, it's just smart saving without trying too hard.
