Tried a new trick for keeping my sourdough starter warm in a cold kitchen
Honestly, my starter was moving so slow last winter that I almost gave up. My kitchen sits at like 62 degrees and it would take forever to rise. Then I was at a friend's house in Denver and saw she kept her starter jar on top of her cable box. She said it puts out just enough steady heat to keep it happy. I tried it at home with my router and it was a game changer. I put my jar right on the plastic casing and it stays a perfect 75 degrees now. It doubled in size in under 4 hours yesterday. Has anyone else found a good spot like that in their house for a little extra warmth?

Just be careful with the router, that plastic casing can get pretty warm. I'd check the temp with a thermometer to make sure it's not getting too hot.

Yeah, the heat can mess with your wifi signal too. Had mine in a cabinet and speeds dropped by half. Moved it out into the open air and it was fine. That plastic warping is just the start.
