Pro tip: The 18-minute closing I did in Austin last Tuesday was a total mess.

The title company pushed everything through so fast they missed three pages that needed initials, which meant we had to redo the whole packet after the buyer left. Everyone acts like speed is always good, but rushing cost us an extra day of work. Has anyone else had a fast closing blow up because of skipped steps?

Oh man, that's the worst! I once got so excited about a "record time" closing that I literally signed my own name wrong. Like, my own legal signature, on the seller side. We all had a good laugh, but yeah, it added a whole extra step to get a corrected copy over. Speed definitely makes you miss the small stuff.

Honestly, how much of a delay did it really cause? A day to fix some paperwork seems like a pretty normal hiccup in the grand scheme of a real estate deal. Was the closing date actually pushed back, or was it just some extra admin work?

Yeah, @the_lucas, I thought that too... until it cost me a whole rate lock.
