I finally listened to a client who said my closing emails were too long
Honestly, they told me 'get to the point in three lines or less' after a deal almost fell through. Now I cut out all the filler and just state the next step, which shaved a full day off my average close. Anyone else get told their process was too wordy?

Yeah, that polite fluff is a real time sink. I bet @lisa5's boss meant the extra details just buried the actual ask. Keeping it to the next step forces everyone to focus.

Three lines is a tough limit but it makes sense. What was the actual filler you were cutting out... like were you over-explaining the terms or just adding too much polite fluff? I had a boss tell me my project updates read like a novel, so I get it.
