A client in Seattle once asked me to close a deal in under 48 hours
We were working on a standard residential sale, and out of the blue he said, 'If you can get this done by Friday, I'll cover the extra courier fees myself.' It happened during a walkthrough at the property on 23rd Avenue. That push made me coordinate with the title company and our lender in a way I hadn't before. Has anyone else pulled off a closing that fast without it falling apart?

How do you even get a title company to answer the phone that fast? I picture you just camping out in their lobby with a box of donuts... and the lender is probably still in shock someone actually sent paperwork back on time. My last closing felt like it took three years and a blood oath.

I used to believe title companies were just slow by nature. Then I started calling at 8:01 AM on the dot, right when they open. I also got the direct line to the closing agent's desk, not the main number. It turns out they're actually people who want to get their work done too, before the daily chaos starts. A five minute morning call often saves a whole day of phone tag.

Ha, I'm the chaos they're trying to beat.
