Switched from sketching by hand to digital patterns and I'm never going back
For years I used to draw all my fashion designs on paper with pencils and markers. I would spend hours erasing and redrawing every time I messed up a sleeve or a collar. Then about 6 months ago I took a class at a local community college in Austin that taught us to use pattern drafting software. The first time I tried it I finished a full dress design in 2 hours instead of 2 days. Now I can copy, resize, and tweak everything without starting over. My old method made me waste so much paper and time on mistakes. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed a huge difference in how fast you can iterate on ideas?

You took a class at a community college in Austin? That's wild, I live there too. I always figured those classes were for like, retirees or something, not for actual designers. It's cool it worked out so well for you. Going from two days to two hours is a crazy jump. I'm still stuck in the dark ages with my sketchpad.

Yeah, I thought that too until I tried it.
