Question about using a thrifted 1970s bedspread for a maxi skirt design. The pattern was SO loud it gave my friend a headache.

Ever notice how old patterns are way bolder than anything made today? That bedspread sounds like it was designed before people got scared of color. We traded visual interest for being inoffensive and it's boring.

My friend's 1970s couch had a pattern that could trigger migraines from across the room. Paulschmidt is right, they really didn't hold back back then. I say lean into the chaos and make that skirt.

Actually those old patterns can be way too much, like visual noise lol. Some things are better left in the past.
