Towel roll method for wet clothes was a disaster on my lake getaway!

On my recent lake getaway, I tried a hack where you roll wet clothes in a dry towel to soak up water. I saw it online and thought it would save time! But when I tried it with my swimsuit, the towel got super wet and the suit was still damp. The towel took hours to dry in the humid air, and it started to smell funky. I ended up having to wear a slightly wet suit the next morning, which was not fun at all. Has anyone found a better way to handle wet clothes while traveling? I need tips for next time!

That towel trick never works for me either, it just makes two wet things. What kind of material was your swimsuit made of? I wonder if that changes how well it works. Did you have a fan or any moving air at all where you were staying to help things dry?

Tried that trick once and ended up with a damp towel and a still-wet suit, no fan helped.

Actually, that trick is basically just moving moisture from one thing to another. The suit material makes a big difference, like polyester dries faster than cotton. Having a fan does help, but it's not enough to fix a bad method. I've found that rolling the suit in a towel first, then hanging it with air flow works better. But even then, it's slow going. Really, the best bet is to just lay it flat in the sun if you can.
