inJust realized most folks here are using the wrong type of caulk on their stucco
Check the expiration date on the silicone tube before you buy it. I grabbed some that was already old stock once and it was a nightmare to work with, almost like trying to spread glue. That's a solid find from @danielhenderson about the silicone lasting, because the real test is how it handles the big temperature swings here. I've had good luck with the GE brand stuff from Home Depot, but only if you get it on a dry week and let it cure fully.

inThat old fountain at the Westgate Plaza mall finally made sense to me
That line about the fountain being the literal center of community life got me. I had that same feeling in the old Sears at the Ridgeway Mall. I walked through the dead auto center and saw faded ads for tire rotations, and it just hit me that this grimy bay was where everyone came to get their car ready for winter. It wasn't just a store, it was a whole thing for the town. Makes the quiet feel way heavier now.

inA 2018 F-150 with a coolant leak showed me why you should always check the oil cooler housing.
My buddy's 2019 5.0 did the exact same thing last month. That little weep turned into a full on river under the hood. I felt like a genius for spotting it, then a total fool because I'd been ignoring the same faint smell in my own truck for weeks. Guess who's got a weekend project now?

inFinally got the hang of a tricky 3D contour on a part for a local brewery
That 0.001 inch finish is wild, I'd be too scared the machine would just start polishing air. My first try with a scallop toolpath looked like a topo map of the moon, I mean it was bad. I get what josephl67 is saying about it being a game changer, but it definitely feels like a trust fall with your post processor. Maybe it's just me but I still do a tiny manual pass on the real tricky spots, just in case.

inTried a new clear coat process on a 2021 F-150 hood last week
Honestly, I've tried that exact thing and it went sideways on me. Three light coats just didn't build enough film thickness for the cut and buff later, ended up burning through on an edge. That extra 15 minutes per panel adds up fast on a full repaint, too. Sticking with two good wet coats has always given me a solid, predictable finish without the extra risk.
