My 'juice only' cleanse versus a real meal plan from a local dietitian

I did that 5-day juice cleanse last month (the one from that shop on Maple Street) and felt awful by day two, just shaky and hungry all the time. So I switched to a simple meal plan from a dietitian in town, which is basically just eating three normal meals with protein and veggies. The difference is huge, I'm not fighting cravings every hour now. Has anyone else found that adding food back in was the real key?

Did we really need a dietitian to tell us eating actual food works better than just drinking juice? Seems like common sense, but maybe that's just me.

Ellis, you said "common sense" and I think that's exactly the problem. Seems like everywhere you look these days people want some kind of expert to tell them what they already know in their gut. It's like we've all forgotten how to trust our own basic instincts. Common sense used to be, you know, common. Now it feels like we need a license just to decide what to eat for lunch. It's a weird time we're living in for sure.

Common sense isn't always common when you're desperate for a quick fix, @ellis.hayden. A good dietitian gives you a real plan, not just the "eat food" idea.
