I thought the 'no food after 7pm' rule was total nonsense...
My friend swore by it for years, but I just figured it was another weird trick. I tried it for a solid month after my last diet fell apart... and I actually lost 4 pounds without changing anything else. I think it just stopped my late-night cereal habit without me even noticing. Has anyone else had a simple rule work when the big plans didn't?

My 9pm snack drawer was my downfall too.

Yeah I used to roll my eyes at that rule too, thought it was just old diet culture stuff. But honestly, cutting off my kitchen at 8pm basically fixed my mindless snacking while watching TV. It wasn't even about the calories, it just broke that automatic habit of wandering to the fridge every night.

My husband and I started a strict 7:30 kitchen close last month. It felt silly at first, but that physical boundary really does stop the whole "just one more handful of chips" loop.
