The quiet way we handled grief in my childhood home
When my grandpa died, nobody said a word about sadness. Now, I encourage my kids to talk about loss. It's a different world from the hushed tones I grew up with.

Honestly, believed that being strong meant staying quiet about hard stuff for the longest time. Seeing how much it helps people to just say things out loud really changed my mind on that.

Right? How did you finally get past feeling like you had to keep everything to yourself? I used to think that way too until I tried actually talking about stuff and realized it made things easier, not weaker.
