Rant: My brother told me his wife doesn't know he's been paying his mom's rent for a year
We were just talking about our parents getting older, and he casually mentioned sending $800 a month to his mom's landlord. He said it's easier to hide it than to explain to his wife why his mom's retirement plan failed. It made me realize how many families have these secret financial deals... Honestly, that's a marriage problem waiting to happen. Keeping a secret that big from your spouse? How's that trust supposed to work? The money itself is one thing, but the lying is a whole other mess. He's basically choosing to protect his mom's pride over his wife's right to know.
