Can we talk about LED light therapy? I was so sure it was just a fancy gimmick until I saw the results on a client with stubborn post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

I had a client come in for a series of six treatments over two months, using a blue and red combo panel I rented. Her PIH from old acne was visibly reduced by about 70% by the end. I tracked it with Visia imaging. The science is there, but seeing it work that well on a real person in my own chair changed my mind completely. What specific conditions have you all had the best success treating with LED?

Interesting results, but my experience has been totally different. Rented a high-end panel for my studio last year and ran a similar trial. The before and after photos showed maybe a 10% improvement at best, and that could have been from the better skincare routine I had them on. It felt like a very expensive placebo. The science looks good on paper, but in real practice, the results seem super inconsistent. Hard to justify the cost for clients when the outcome isn't a sure thing.

Yeah, that's why we stopped renting and just do targeted spot treatments now.

See that's what I'm curious about though, with the spot treatments were you finding you had to do a lot more sessions to get results? Because I've heard from some people that you basically have to hit the same spot multiple times over a few weeks for it to really stick otherwise the melanin just bounces right back. And with the panels at least you're hitting the whole face at once so in theory it should even out better. I've been debating between these two approaches for a while now so I'd love to hear more about your actual numbers like how long you ran them and what kind of power settings you used.
