I finally swapped out the old cloth-wrapped wire in my 1950s bungalow and the voltage drop at the far end of the circuit went from 8 volts to under 2.

It's good to hear you say that, @danielhenderson. A lot of people just double down instead. Admitting you were wrong shows you actually care about getting it right. That's way more important than pretending to know everything from the start. We could all stand to do that more often.

You see this all the time in real life too, @danielhenderson. Like at work when someone insists their way is faster on a project, then realizes three days in that another method was actually better. Or even in simple stuff like telling a friend a restaurant is amazing, then going back and finding out it went downhill. It takes guts to just say "I was wrong" instead of making up some excuse about the menu changing. More people should try it, it's honestly refreshing.
