Swore those high-dollar cutter teeth were a waste of money...

Bought a set of those tungsten-carbide teeth from that rep at the Pittsburgh dredge expo last spring, figured they'd break in a week like the cheap ones. Three months later they're still cutting clean through that packed clay on the Ohio River job, had to eat my words on that one. Anyone else get surprised by a tool they thought was overhyped?

Funny how that works, right? Seems like every time I get cynical about something being overpriced, it ends up being the one thing that actually holds up. Kind of makes me wonder how many good tools I've skipped out on just because I assumed they were all hype.

Funny you mention that @kelly.nora, 'cause my buddy Mike swore the same thing about those ceramic edge trimmers for sheet metal. He bought some cheap ones for years, finally dropped the cash on a name brand set, and they're still sharp six months later. Hard to argue with real results.

Hard to argue with real results" is a tough point to counter, but I'll give it a shot. The thing about name brand stuff lasting six months is you're comparing it to the cheap ones that probably broke after three months, meaning you could've bought two pairs for half the price and come out ahead. Plus, if the cheaper ones had been sharpened instead of tossed, you might've gotten even more life out of them without the premium markup.
