Appreciation post: My old cutterhead pump gave out after 12 years, and I'm not even mad

Everyone says you should replace major parts every 8-10 years, but that thing ran like a top until the main bearing finally went last Tuesday on the Savannah River job. I just ordered the same model again, so maybe the rule isn't always right. Anyone else have a piece of gear that lasted way past its supposed lifespan?

My grandpa's 1978 John Deere mower is still in his shed... original engine and everything. Makes you wonder if they just built things different back then.

Lucky you, my stuff usually dies right on schedule.

Saw a thing online about how older engines were built with way looser tolerances, so they just kept running. @sammoore's grandpa probably just has that lucky one lol.
