My neighbor told me my deck stain job looked patchy from across the yard
He said to always use a brush for the final coat, not just a roller, because it pushes the stain into the wood grain better. I redid a section with a 4 inch Purdy brush and the color is way more even now. Anyone have a favorite brush brand for outdoor oil stains?

Yeah, the brush really does push it into the grain better. I had the same patchy issue with a roller on my fence. Switched to a Wooster brush for the last coat and it made all the difference.
