Noticed my toolbox was getting too heavy for the truck bed
I was out on a job last fall in Austin, helping a buddy fix up his mom's old porch railing. We had to haul his truck full of tools, and I realized my personal setup had gotten ridiculous. I had three different hammers, two levels I never used, and a bunch of specialty wrenches from projects 5 years ago. That day I decided to slim down by keeping only the tools I actually used in the last 6 months. I sold the extras at a garage sale for about 40 bucks total. Now my main bag weighs maybe 15 pounds less and I don't have to dig through junk to find my 10mm socket. Has anyone else done a hard purge like that and regretted tossing something?

Did the same thing a couple years ago. Felt great getting rid of all that junk I was just hauling around. The only thing I sort of miss is a weird little socket I kept for an old mower I don't even own anymore, so no real loss.

Wait, oscarb77, you kept a single socket for a mower you don't even own anymore? That is wild to me. I can't believe you held onto that for years just in case, like a secret hope you'd find that exact mower again. I thought I was bad with a box of random keys, but a socket for a ghost mower takes the cake.
