My first set of EL wire panels went from blinding to barely visible in 3 months
I built some EL wire jacket panels last October for a Halloween party and they were super bright then, but after just three months of regular wear the green wire is almost dead already, has anyone else seen this kind of quick fade with cheap EL wire kits?

Oh, welcome to the club of the disappointed! I bought a similar cheap EL wire kit online last year for a costume party, and it was the same story. The blue wire looked great for about a month, then it was like a dying firefly. You get what you pay for, I guess - those inexpensive inverters just don't put out the right voltage to keep the wire going.

Did you try swapping out the inverter before tossing the whole thing?
