My bathroom sink drain fell apart in my hands at 7 AM yesterday.

I was just trying to clean the hair out of the stopper and the whole plastic assembly crumbled into pieces... had to use a bucket under the pipe for the rest of the day. Has anyone fixed one of these slip-nut drains without it turning into a huge plumbing project?

Honestly same thing happened to me last month, just a cheap plastic piece that totally disintegrated. Tbh replacing the whole drain assembly was way easier than I thought.

Mine was a corroded metal part that took hours to get unstuck.
