I thought I was fine until my car battery died in the grocery store lot

It happened last Tuesday after work, just sitting there with my bags in the back. I mean, I had been pushing through the split for months, telling everyone I was okay. But sitting there, totally stuck and alone, I just started crying. I called a jump service and waited 45 minutes, feeling like a complete mess. Has anyone else had a small thing break that just brought all those feelings right back up?

Know that feeling, it sneaks up on you.

Ugh, for real. It hits you out of nowhere when you're just trying to have a normal day. One minute you're fine, the next it's just there. Makes you feel totally blindsided every single time. Hate that.

Yeah, "blindsided" is the perfect word for it. I used to think people were being dramatic when they talked about stuff like this, figured you could just shake it off or power through. But nah, after dealing with it myself a few times I totally get it now. It's like your brain just decides to hit you with a freight train out of nowhere for no reason at all. Really changes how you see things when you actually go through it.
