Warning: that Meyer's Lavender dish soap ruined my cast iron skillet

I bought a big bottle of Meyer's Lavender at Target last month because I love the smell. $8.99 on sale. I used it for a week on my cast iron and now everything tastes like weird flowery soap. Even after seasoning it three times. Had to throw out a batch of chili because it was all I could taste. Has anyone else had this problem with scented soaps on cast iron?

Wait WAIT you actually had to throw out chili because of it? That hurts my soul. $8.99 for a bottle of soap that steals your chili is robbery. @the_charles I bet the mistake was trusting that fancy Target marketing over common sense. I've been using my cast iron for years and I just use plain unscented dish soap now. The weird part is I still smell lavender every time I cook eggs in that pan. It's like the soap got into the pores of the metal or something. Three seasons later and it still tastes like a garden died in my skillet.

Ruined a whole batch of chili once too, felt like a personal failure.
