My brother's new girlfriend brought a store-bought pie to Thanksgiving and my aunt nearly walked out

This happened last month at my parents' house in Portland. My aunt spent three days making her famous apple pie from scratch, so when my brother's girlfriend showed up with a Safeway pumpkin pie, it was like watching a slow motion train wreck. Has anyone else had a family member bring pre-made food to a big dinner and cause total chaos?

Man that's rough. Your aunt worked hard on that pie and the store bought one just shows up like that. Can't blame her for being mad honestly.

Did you see that article about how store bought pies are actually tested in labs to taste exactly the same every single time? That kinda makes sense why someone would grab one, they know exactly what they're getting. But man, there's something about a homemade pie that's got its own character even if it's not perfect. I bet your aunt's pie had way more heart in it than that store bought one ever could.

I mean, idk, I kinda get why the girlfriend did that. Maybe she's new to the family and was nervous about bringing something homemade that nobody would like, so she played it safe with a store pie.
