My brother swore by his $200 rice cooker for years, I called him crazy.

Finally used it last Thanksgiving to cook for 12 people. Came out perfect, no scorched bottom, no babysitting. Has anyone else converted after swearing off expensive kitchen gear?

Dude wait, this is literally my best friend's story. She spent years roasting her mom for having a "fancy rice cooker" that cost like $150. Then her mom made her arroz con pollo for a family gathering and it was the most perfect rice ever, not mushy or burnt. My friend was so mad she had to admit the rice cooker was legit. Now she's texting me about how she's thinking of getting one because her stovetop rice always comes out weird. The conversion is real haha.
