I spent a full twenty minutes once circling a train station like a weirdo, phone in the air, chasing that one bar of signal by the newsstand. The true low point was trying to join a Zoom call from a cafe bathroom because it was the only corner with stable internet. Now I just download everything to my laptop ahead of time and embrace the peace. It’s amazing how much less you hate working from the road when your entire plan doesn’t hinge on the free Wi-Fi at some sketchy airport lounge.

Yeah the cafe bathroom zoom call is a special kind of low... I keep a cheap mobile hotspot in my bag for those dead zones, it's saved me so many times. Total game changer for when the public wifi just gives up.

My buddy Dave once took a work call from a laundromat bathroom.
