I was in a Chiang Mai co-working space when a power surge fried my laptop and my backup drive at the same time.
Everyone says to just back things up, but that event made me realize a cloud-only setup is actually riskier for nomads with spotty internet. How do you handle local vs cloud backups when you're moving every few weeks?

That Chiang Mai power surge sounds like it had a personal grudge against your gear. I keep one backup drive in my bag and another stashed in a different room, just in case the outlet gets angry.
