After moving cities three times, I hate how co-working spaces force yearly deals

I've been hopping between countries as a digital nomad for two years now. Every time I land in a new place, I scout for a co-working spot to get some work done. They always, and I mean always, push these crazy yearly membership plans. I only need a desk for a month tops, but they act like I'm signing a lease for life. Last month in Mexico City, I had to shell out for three months just to get a decent chair and wifi. It's a total racket that punishes people who actually travel. Why do they assume we're sticking around forever? This system is plain wrong for anyone living on the move.

Actually the yearly plans make total sense for them. My friend runs a spot in Lisbon and says monthly folks are a huge hassle with admin costs. They need the long term cash to keep the lights on.

Did you run into the same problem with short stays in other cities too?

Found short stays in other cities work well for me, @oscar_wood. They push you to see the best parts and skip the rest. Ever had a quick trip that turned out great?
