TIL that cheap aftermarket injector for a 6.7 Powerstroke cost me $450 and a whole weekend of rework.
It failed a leakdown test after 20 miles, so I had to pull the valve cover again and eat the cost of a proper OEM part.

Ever learn that lesson the hard way? I bought a cheap alternator once that lasted a week. Now I just save up for the real part.

Yeah, those cheap parts stores are a total gamble. You might get lucky and it lasts a year, or it dies before you even get home. The real cost is the labor to swap it out again when it fails. Spending a bit more upfront saves so much time and hassle later.
