Tried a blind date with a scavenger hunt in Portland. Big mistake.

My friend set me up with this guy who planned a whole scavenger hunt across the city. Thought it would be fun and romantic, instead we spent 45 minutes looking for a specific red bench in a park that apparently got moved last month. He got super frustrated and started blaming the app on his phone, then we ended up at a taco cart where he argued with the vendor about the price of salsa. I learned that if someone wants to put that much effort into a first date, it's usually more about control than connection. Has anyone else had a date with a weird activity that just made everything worse?

Did your date at least get you some good tacos out of the deal? My buddy had a girl take him to a pottery class where she kept "fixing" his vase and then got annoyed when he laughed about it, so they left early. Sometimes the activity just becomes a stage for the other person's need to call the shots, which pretty much kills the whole vibe.
